Hackney Road until recently was a stretch of pavement, but the regeneration of the area has sparked the opening of small cocktail bars, art galleries and coffee shops.

Tower Hamlets

The love locks fence in Tower Hamlets started in 2012, where the fence encircles a vacant goods yard. As well as the padlocks with names and initials, there is also coloured wool and twine woven around the fence, to demonstrate a couple’s everlasting love.
